Spin" is proud to celebrate our 10th anniversary of presenting
positive, innovative and solution oriented news from around the
world. First we'll see how California is proposing to cut automobile
emissions and expand its economy by building an electric High
Speed Rail System from San Francisco to San Diego. Next, our
United Nations and Foreign Affairs Correspondent Kim Weichel
shows us how the United Nations is helping indigenous people
in the Philippines protect their ancestral waters. Then we'll
learn about the Prem Rawat Foundation's Food For People Program
in India. Program Host Bill McCarthy will give us an update on
the travels of Nassim Yousefi and Jafar Edrisi, the Iranian couple
who are bicycling around the world to promote world peace, understanding,
and environmental restoration. Then we'll hear a message from
the Peace Alliance on how individuals can get involved in creating
a Department of Peace as a cabinet level department in the United
States government. Later we'll meet our new Youth Correspondent
Tracey Quezada and learn about the One Kid One World organization
and its efforts to provide school supplies to remote villages
in Africa. Finally, in a short film Produced and Directed by
Daniela Haskara of SacredFilms.com, we'll hear the words of actor
and activist Richard Gere as he speaks at the Free Tibet Rally
held on the occasion of the Olympic Torch Relay in San Francisco.
